DCWD College Scholarship 2024: How to Apply

DCWD College Scholarship Benefits

The DCWD College Scholarship offers a range of benefits to eligible students, including meal, transportation, and boarding house allowances, as well as uniform and textbook allowances. Scholars are also eligible for education tour allowances, incentives, and thesis allowances in their graduating year.

Number of Scholarship Slots Available in DCWD

The DCWD College Scholarship Program for the academic year 2024-2025 has a total of 15 slots available. Six of these slots are allocated for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) while the remaining nine slots are for the DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship.

Eligible students who wish to obtain a college degree from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) may apply for the scholarship program.

Qualification

To qualify for the DCWD Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age requirement: Applicants must be between 15 to 25 years old.
  • Academic status: They should be incoming freshmen or continuing students and must have graduated from Senior High School with an average grade of at least 80%. Additionally, they should have maintained a minimum average grade of 80% in the previous college semester.
  • Membership: Applicants must belong to the Indigenous Cultural Communities and Muslims residing in specific watershed areas, including Toril, Tugok, Baguio, Calinan, and Marilog Districts.

Requirements

  • Certificate signed by the tribal chieftain
  • Certificate from the NCIP – National Commission on Indigenous People or NCMF – National Commission on Muslim Filipino (Whichever is applicable)
  • Annual Household income not exceeding P120,000
  • Compliance to the qualifying requirements of USEP
  • Barangay Clearance

What are the Qualifications

To be eligible for the DCWD Academic Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Age requirement: 15 to 21 years old.
  • Must be a senior high school graduate from a school based in Davao City of the previous school year on application.
  • Average grade of at least 85%.
  • Must be part of the top 20% of the graduating class.

  • Compliance with the qualifying requirements of University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP)

How to Apply for DCWD College Scholarship

To apply for the DCWD College Scholarship, interested and eligible applicants may contact the DCWD Community Relations Division at 235-3293 local 1621.

Applicants may visit the Community Relations Division Office located at the 6th floor of the DCWD Matina Office to fill out the application form.

DCWD Scholarship Deadline

The deadline for DCWD College Scholarship application is March 31st, 2024.

Applicants are advised to submit their applications before the deadline to be considered for the scholarship. It is important to note that late applications will not be considered.
